Celebrating Birthdays at Harrier Grange

Residents Birthday Cake

We have been celebrating many birthdays over the past few weeks at Harrier Grange.

Rosie had her birthday on the 15th March, and this was to be her 103rd birthday! Rosie had spent the past week in isolation due to catching covid and unfortunately still had a week left. This left her birthday right in the middle of her isolation, unable to venture out from her room or receive guests. But 103 is a milestone worth celebrating.

A few select staff members were chosen to dress in our finest PPE to deliver to Rosie a birthday to remember. Friends and family had dropped off cards and gifts for Rosie. We were able to deliver these gifts, alongside a homemade personalised cake courtesy of our wonderful Kitchen Team. Fortunately, Rosie was able to see her family on her special day through a video call. Rosie was very happy with all the kind words and thoughtful gifts.

Our other wonderful resident, Jacqueline (above) turned 92 on the 19th of April. All day Jacqueline had enjoyed the sun with her husband Brian. They made the most of our sunny weather sitting by the window enjoying the garden and birds singing. Taking only a short break to have her hair done in our salon by a stylist. Jacqueline had many cards to open and even a homemade cake to cut into this afternoon courtesy of our fantastic Kitchen Team.

With every one of our resident's birthday, our team goes above and beyond to make every day as special as possible celebrating with cards, cakes, flowers and however they wish to spend the day - whether that's a day trip out, private dinner or watching countless films in the cinema room.
