Harrier Grange Harvest Festival

This month, we celebrated the change in season by having our first 'Harvest Festival', which all of our residents got involved in.

We wanted to reflect on the year that we have had so far and remember what an amazing summer our care home has had which was filled with fun and laughter. Over the summer months, we have had lots of generous donations from our local community. With all these donations our residents wanted to give back and they decided they would use the local church as a platform to do so. Our residents understand that not everyone is lucky enough to be in a fortunate position and they wanted to ensure that the people of Andover had some kind of refuge and help with getting food during the colder months.

During the week leading up to the festival, our residents were busy getting involved in autumn-themed crafts, sensory activities and cooking sessions to contribute to the church's food bank.

At the end of the week, we invited the popular Rev.Jill into our home to have a beautiful and reflective church service.

The whole week gave our residents a sense of community and provided them with emotional fulfilment by helping other people. Many of our residents struggle with their ability to be independently mobile, so arranging important events like this allows them to regain that part of their life again.

We look forward to hosting more events like these in the future and donating to our local community again.
