Residents Happy to Have a Visit from a Four-Legged Friend

Pet Therapy

We recently had a four-legged visitor come to greet residents at Harrier Grange Care Home. Koda is a recently trained therapy dog who had his first ever working opportunity with us on Friday. Koda was a joy to have and was completely friendly and adorable.

Koda the dog

Koda joined us accompanied by his handler Kathy. Koda is a rescue dog who now has a very important job, putting smiles on people’s faces! Koda & Kathy ventured through our home meeting many of our wonderful residents, stopping by and getting to know everyone.

Our residents were elated to meet such a well-behaved dog and were eager to share stories of their own pet dogs and all the escapades that they got themselves into. Koda sparked so many memories for our residents, it was a truly brilliant opportunity for everyone involved.

We try to arrange sessions such as pet therapy as often as possible as we believe the presence of a friendly animal has a calming effect on our residents, and encourages they to talk about their own pet experiences.

If you would like to know more about the activities programme we provide every week for our residents, get in touch with our friendly team who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
