The Royal Wedding

A resident dressed up for the Royal Wedding at Harrier Grange Care Home

Our residents got into the spirit of the Royal Wedding last weekend by having a party of our own!

Our home was decorated with patriotic bunting and tableware, with plenty of Union Jack flags to celebrate the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

James Blight, our Head Chef, and his wonderful team created a delicious buffet fit for royalty, and everyone was served with a glass of champagne to toast the Royal couple as they made their vows.

Our Home Manager, Kay Kelly said: "Royal weddings have been a major attraction for a lot of our residents through their lives."

"Our party gave them the chance to chat about the other Royal weddings they remember and to share their memories about street parties when they were children. Many of them remember well when The Queen and Prince Philip got married in 1947."

"Lots of our residents have a real soft spot for Prince Harry - remembering when he was born, watching him grow into a young man and now have been so excited to celebrate him marrying the beautiful Meghan Markle. It felt really important that we mark this special wedding properly, and our residents really had a ball!"
